Marie J.Engelsvold is with the exhibition "Originals" back in Galerie Pi, after a number of years with activities in Denmark and abroad. Engelsvold works with painting, drawing and sculpture. The ceramics is a new component, included in the composite sculptures of painted foamfoam forms, textiles, wood and yarn. On show, is also Engelsvold’s whimsical paintings and drawings.The diverse materials and her own personal universe are the focal points of the artist's works. Creating a visual language, that contains what is too complex to express in words. A smooth ceramic form meeting a wooden structure, which meets a painted foam form wrapped in yarn. The materials are glued or sewn together and become a unit despite their very different character - a complex reality.The title "Originals" pointing to the beauty of the vulnerable, the contradictory and the untamed. The exhibition shows with playfulnss, the realization of our multi-faceted life.
